Structural Engineering Led by a Licensed PE, From Amarillo, TX

Shannon Schneider, P.E. is a licensed structural engineer based in Amarillo, Texas with over 20 years of experience across industrial, commercial, and residential projects. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and completed foundational engineering coursework at Amarillo College before transferring to Texas Tech.

Prior to founding Square Engineering, LLC, Shannon served as Senior Engineering Manager at Altura Engineering & Design in Amarillo, where she led complex structural engineering engagements for over five years. Her career has been built around the most demanding structural engineering environments in the industry, petrochemical plants and refineries, power generation facilities, agricultural infrastructure including grain silos and conveyor towers, and food processing facilities including pet food production and cooking oil distribution systems.

This is not commercial or residential work scaled up. Industrial structural engineering requires a working knowledge of dynamic equipment loads, vibration analysis, process-driven load conditions, thermal cycling, and the relationship between structural performance and operational continuity. Shannon brings that depth to every engagement Square Engineering takes on.

Square Engineering, LLC was founded in July 2024 to offer clients something that larger firms cannot: direct access to the licensed PE on every project at every stage. At Square Engineering, the engineer who designed the structure is the engineer who stamped it, and the engineer clients speak with when they have a question. There are no junior staff hand-offs, no account managers in between, and no gaps in accountability.

Credentials & Licensure

Professional Engineer (PE) License

Shannon holds an active PE license. Every structural drawing produced by Square Engineering is stamped and signed by the engineer who designed it.

Multi-State Licensure

Square Engineering is licensed to practice structural engineering in many U.S. states. This allows the firm to serve clients beyond Texas without lag of seeking licensure project by project.

Industry Experience in Demanding Environments

Shannon Schneider, P.E. has spent the majority of her career engineering structures for the industrial sectors that operate the largest, most load-intensive, and most consequence-sensitive facilities in the region. The Panhandle and surrounding West Texas markets are home to a concentration of these industries, and Square Engineering’s experience reflects that reality directly.

The Square Engineering Difference, Direct PE Involvement on Every Project

Most structural engineering firms separate the people who do the work from the people who sign the work. At larger firms, the PE whose stamp is on the drawings may have minimal direct involvement in a project, the analysis was run by a junior engineer, the drawings were produced by a CAD technician, and the PE reviewed the package at the end. This is standard practice in the industry, and it creates predictable gaps.

Square Engineering operates differently. Shannon Schneider, P.E. personally runs the analysis, sizes the members, produces the structural documentation, and is directly reachable throughout the project, including during construction when RFIs and field questions arise. For clients who have experienced the frustration of trying to reach the responsible engineer on a deadline-sensitive project, this is not a small distinction.

Work With a PE Who Is Directly Involved in Your Project

Shannon Schneider, P.E. personally responds to every inquiry. If you have a structural engineering project in Amarillo, the Texas Panhandle, or anywhere in our multi-state service area, reach out and let’s discuss what it needs.
